APC Seals Niger Guber Election

The Niger state All Progressives Congress APC leads other political parties in 17 out of 18 of the local governments’ results officially released by INEC in Minna yesterday. Results of eight local governments of the state were awaited.

The official results were released at about 2:25pm in the afternoon by various local governments collation officers before the state Residence Electoral Commissioner, other INEC officials, observers and representatives of the various media houses were presence.

So far, the local governments that have announced their results included Tafa, Bosso, Gurara, Munya, Suleja, Paikoro, Rafi, Chanchaga, Katcha, Shiroro and Bida local governments of the state.

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Niger State, Hon. Umar Nasko yesterday said he will abide by the outcome of gubernatorial election in the state.

He spoke with newsmen shortly after he was accredited for the election at Central Primary School, Nasko.

The governorship candidate said he was ready to abide by the outcome of the election stressing that the election was primarily for the good of the state and her people.

“I will abide by the outcome of the election. Mind you, we are all Nigerians and we are partners in the development of our state and in whatever I win or lose, I believe we can forge a common interest for our state and we can forge ahead whichever way it goes”.

Niger state Governorship and house of assembly elections witnessed low turn-out of voters unlike the presidential and national assembly elections.
