APC suspends Ikuforiji, Others for anti-Party activities

The Lagos state chapter of the All Progressive Congress (APC), has suspended several high ranking members from the party over anti-party activities.

The leaders of APC Lagos suspended the former Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Adeyemi Ikuforiji, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Community and Communication Affairs, Hakeem Sulaiman-Oris, Attorney General, Adeniji Kazeem, alongside 17 others for what the party described as alleged anti-party activities.

The suspended party members were accused of working with another Political Party, the Action Democratic Party (ADP) against the APC at the federal and state levels.

The other suspended party members include;

Commissioner for Local Government and Community Affairs, Muslim Folami; House of Representative Member, James Falake; Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Community Matters, Babatunde Quadri; Lagos State House of Assembly Members, Segun Olulade; Tunde Braimoh; Shakiru Denge Anifowoshe; Iyabo Akerele; Ola Shehu; Hon. Yemi Ali; Hon.Hakeem Bangbala; Alhaji Bashiru Adekoya; Otunba Tayo Oyemade; Hon. Abiodun Mafe; Rev.Iyo Oyasodun; Mr. Sanya Osijo; Hon. Hakeem Masha; Mr. Corlelius Ojelabi and Femi Apata.

The APC further accused the suspended members of actively working to disrupt the activities state structures of the party before jumping ship to ADP. The suspended members were accused of pursuing selfish interest without recourse to what would happen to the APC as some of them had reportedly secured nomination forms from the ADP.

According to reports, trouble started within the party when its leaders refused to endorse the second term bid of Governor Ambode choosing instead to endorse his greatest critic within the APC, Babajide Sanwo-Olu for the position.

The APC has said it is standing resolute by its deceision to suspend the erring members for their anti-Party activities even if there was to be an intervention on their behalf.
