APC Vows To Expel Corrupt Politicians Within Its Fold

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress has disclosed the party’s position on corruption and anti-party activities within its fold.

While speaking with journalists, the Yobe State Chairman, Alhaji Adamu Chilariye, said in the state capital, Damaturu, that the party would not hesitate to expel any member found to be corrupt or involved in anti-party activities.

Stating that the party was committed to the ideal of internal democracy, Chilariye said party members should refrain from practices that will bring the party into disrepute and lead to their own expulsion.

According to him, the party is bigger than any single individual, no matter how highly placed.

The state chairman was speaking on the heels of a purported division with the ranks of the party in Yobe.

He said: “I will like to use this opportunity to clarified that, we noted that a report published by a national newspaper which insinuated a purported crisis in the APC Yobe state following the expelled some its member from the party, we are united.

“Those people who were expulsion from the party due to their anti-party activities and unpatriotic activities considered to be injurious counterproductive and negative development of the party in the state.

“They were expelled due to their negative activities against the interest of the party APC has a manifesto and by coming to APC you agreed to be bound by the party’s constitution.”
