APC Youth Wing Slams Gov. Lawal, Accuses Zamfara Governor of “Squandering Public Resources”
The All Progressives Congress (APC) National Youth Wing has launched a fierce attack on Zamfara State Governor Dauda Lawal, accusing him of neglecting critical state issues in favor of “political vendettas” and “reckless spending.”
In a statement released on Sunday, the APC youth leadership alleged that Governor Lawal’s administration has been a “failure,” failing to curb rampant insecurity and widespread infrastructure decay plaguing the state.
Focus on “Political Vendettas” Over Governance
Comrade Danjuma Nuhu, the APC National Youth Leader, signed the statement, asserting that the Governor’s focus is misplaced.
“His reckless spending on futile political pursuits could not hide his incompetence. Zamfara deserves better,” Nuhu declared, strongly suggesting that public resources are being misused for political maneuvers rather than addressing the state’s severe challenges.
The accusation comes on the heels of a significant political shift in Zamfara. On Saturday, Hon. Muhammad Lawal Kuryar Madaro, a prominent figure and former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the Kaura Namoda South State House of Assembly, officially defected to the APC in Gusau.
Kurya’s defection follows his recent defeat in the August supplementary election, where the APC candidate was declared the winner of the constituency seat.
Call for Mass Defection
Capitalizing on the high-profile exit, the APC Youth Wing extended an open invitation to other PDP members who they claim are “disillusioned with Governor Lawal’s administration.”
The youth body urged them to join the APC and support the party’s agenda, which they frame as focused on stability and development for Zamfara State.
The statement is a clear political volley, aiming to weaken the PDP’s structure and rally support for the APC by highlighting perceived governance failures under Governor Lawal’s leadership.
