The member representing Oshodi/Isolo Constituency 2 in the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Jude Emeka Idimogu, has advised the Special Adviser to the Governor on Drainage and Water Resources, Joe Igbokwe, to stop parading himself as the Apex Leader of Ndigbo in Lagos.

Idimogu said he was selected as the Apex Leader by more than 35 Eze Ndigbos in Lagos on May 14, 2020, and endorsed by the Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu afterward.

The lawmaker, who spoke to Daily Independent, noted that he was presented with a certificate to back up the appointment, and challenged Igbokwe to produce any document backing his claim.

Idimogu said that Igbokwe only assumed he was Apex Leader of Ndigbos in the state by virtue of his longevity in Lagos State Government circles, insisting that the governor’s aide was never formally recognized as such.

Idimogu accused the governor’s aide of being envious of his elevation, adding that Igbokwe did not want any Igbo man in Lagos to be greater than him.

He urged Igbo people in Lagos to embrace the All Progressives Congress(APC), saying it was the least they could do to reciprocate the hospitality they enjoy in the state.
