The Court of Appeal has sacked Abdulmumin Jibrin from the Federal House of Representatives. Jubrin of the All Progressives Congress (APC) was representing Kiru/Bebejo Federal Constituency of Kano state.
Justice Adejoke Adepoju gave the verdict while ordering the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to conduct a fresh election.
The Presiding Judge cancelled the election results of two local governments on grounds of mutilation of final results on the EC (8) E forms.
The Election Petition Tribunal had earlier upheld the election victory of Jibrin after he was challenged by Aliu Datti Yako of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

Justice Adepoju’s ruling has overturned the judgement of the Tribunal given by Justice Nayai Aganaba. The Election Petition Tribunal had on September 12, 2019, dismissed the petition of Aliu Datti Yako, saying he lacked evidence to back up his allegations.
