A pro-Peoples Democratic Party, United For a New Nigeria Initiative, has advised the electorate to appreciate the value of their voter cards as instruments of installing their choice of government during the 2019 general elections.
The National President of the organisation, Ms Juliet Anaeme, gave the advice in Abuja on Saturday at a summit when she inaugurated state coordinators for the group.
“Try and get your voter cards because your votes will count; we need to change our attitudes to elections,’’ she told the electorate.
Anaeme also observed that some electorate had given to selling votes, noting that such development arose from ignorance and poverty.
She said that the summit chose “Strategies for Success Towards 2019 General Elections’’ as its theme to highlight strategies that could encourage mass participation, especially of women, in politics.
Also speaking at the summit, Mrs Emmanuella Nebo, a member of Atiku Campaign Organisation, said that the summit had enlightened women and electorate on what should be done to make elections credible.
She called on the electorate to be law-abiding, always putting the interest of the country first in their activities
