Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola has declined to dismiss insinuations he would vie for the presidency in 2023.

This came to the fore on Tuesday during a virtual colloquium with the theme: “Africa: Interrogating the Leadership Questions”.

When a participant asked the former Osun governor if he was interested in the 2023 presidency, Aregbesola said, “I have no response to that.

“I belong to a group of focused, serious politicians who don’t on their own just jump up and pursue ambitions.

“I have never done that before and I won’t start that now.”

Meanwhile, Aregbesola debunked reports that unavailability of booklets was responsible for the inability of Nigerians to get passports at immigration centres across the nation.

“First of all, booklets are available. Let me tell you that straightway, it is false to say booklets are not available.

“As I’m talking to you, there is no passport station in the world today where they do not have booklets with them more than what they can process,” Aregbesola said.
