There was mild drama on Friday at the Armed Forces Remembrance Day event held at National Arcade, opposite Eagles Square, Three Arms Zone, Abuja when the ceremonial pigeons released by President Muhammadu Buhari chose not to fly away.

Buhari had led top government officials and members of the diplomatic corps to honour the nation’s fallen heroes.

A video of the embarrassing incident is currently trending on social media.

President Buhari also led other dignitaries to the traditional laying of wreath marking the end of activities in the 2021 Armed Forces Remembrance Day which started with the launching of the remembrance emblem last year.

Other national officers that accompanied the President were Vice President Yemi Osinbajo; President of the Senate, Ahmed Lawan; Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila; and the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Tanko Mohammed.
