Former Prime Minister Tony Blair’s daughter was held at gunpoint in an attempted armed robbery in central London.

Kathryn Blair, 25, was targeted  as she walked down a street near her home in Marylebone with her boyfriend and other friends. One report said that she was walking her dog at the time and that no one was hurt and nothing taken.

Scotland Yard confirmed an attack involving two male suspects with a gun took place in Ivor  Place, Marylebone, at 8.30pm  on Monday. They are linking  the attack to another gunpoint robbery just half an hour earlier  in nearby Boston Place.

Ms Blair, a barrister at London’s Lincoln’s Inn, is said to have later warned neighbours a gunman was on the loose in the capital.

She has refused to comment but  a family spokesman said today: “Kathryn was with friends. No one was hurt and nothing was stolen.” There is no suggestion that she  was deliberately targeted.

Ms Blair, pictured with mother Cherie, had just returned from joining her parents at 29-year-old brother Euan’s wedding to Suzanne Ashman, 25, near the Blairs’ country home in Buckinghamshire at the weekend. The attacks raises concerns over the security of the family of Mr Blair, who is a potential terrorist target as Britain’s leader during the Iraq war.

One neighbour said: “She must have been absolutely terrified. My first thought would have been ‘terrorist’. She’s a lovely girl and we are just relieved she is OK.”

Ms Blair’s parents bought her a three-bedroom maisonette worth nearly £1million not far from their Connaught Square home in 2010.
