Army-Shi’ite Clash is Fight against Terrorism – Saudi King tells Buhari

King of Saudi Arabia Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud has commended President Muhammadu Buhari for the clash between the army and the Shi’ite sect that led to the death of not less than ten members of the sect while leaving 200 injured.

In a telephone conversation with the President, King Salman described the clash as fight against terrorism.

The two leaders also discussed crucial issues of bilateral relations and ongoing events in both their countries.

The King expressed his outright support of Saudi Arabia for Nigeria in its ongoing fight against terrorism.

He also emphasized that Saudi Arabia stands firmly behind African country following a series of recent terrorist attacks.

He added that criminal acts such as terrorism is not accepted in Islam and he asserted his kingdom will not be involved in any kind of foreign intervention aimed at destabilizing the security and stability of Nigeria.
