A lawyer, Festus Ogun, has taken to Twitter to lament the fate of a young #EndSARS protester rotting away in prison nearly a year after his arrest for protesting.

The lawyer disclosed that he chanced upon the detainee, who he did not name, while making a round of prisons as part of his pro-bono work.

He vowed to fight until the protester is freed.

“As part of my pro-bono work, I was at a Correctional Facility yesterday where I met a 17yr old boy arrested in connection with the #EndSARS protest.

“He has been in prison since October 2020. Heartbreaking though but efforts are being put in place to get him out. #JusticeForAll,” Ogun tweeted.

Ogun said that the young protester was already “losing his mind” as a result of his long incarceration.

Responding to a question on the condition of the young protester, Ogun said, “The boy is already losing his mind. The long incarceration has affected his mental state. The Nigeria state is a pure evil! We will get him out!”
