A 29-year-old entertainer, Dare Tijani, has been remanded in prison for impersonating an Air Force officer at the Iyana Ipaja police station.

It was gathered that Tijani, who resides at 17, Kajola Street, Ejigbo, Lagos, wore the uniform of an Air Force officer to the police station in an attempt to intimidate the policemen on duty to release his band instruments that were seized.

He allegedly bragged about his ability to disrupt the activities at the station if his instruments were not released to him. He was also accused of threatening to mobilise fellow Air Force officials to attack the policemen, while shouting and breaching the public peace.

The police while arraigning him in court, accused him of claiming to be an Air Force officer, recruited in 2010 in Kaduna.

After investigations, the Air Force authority had formally indicated that there was no record of the accused employment or dismissal.

Tijani, however, pleaded not guilty and the Chief Magistrate, Mrs Bola Osunsanmi, granted him bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum. Osunsanmi adjourned the case till November 23, for trial.
