Suspected hired assassins on Tuesday snuffed out the life of an Imo-based hotelier.

Mr. Kevin Ezekwem an international businessman who hails from Umuocha, Awa, Oguta Local Council of Imo State, was said to have recently commissioned a hotel in the community.

The deceased decided to commission the hotel in grand style by hosting a “come one- come all party”.

However, the event turned sour at about 9pm when some young boys stormed the place and asked for a particular brand of beer.

“As Kevin made to serve his supposed guests, the boys drew out their guns and started firing into the air and people ran for safety,” a source said.

According to an eye witness report, the hoodlums shot him in his legs before taking him away in their waiting Toyota Camry car.

“The entire village was shocked beyond description when they discovered the same night that the hoodlums further shot their harmless prey in different parts of his body before dumping him in the premises of Community Primary School, Akabor,” the source recounted.

Another eyewitness said that the community’s vigilante group belatedly mobilized and pursued the invading assassins but only spotted the lifeless body of Kevin in the school.

The deceased, before his untimely death, was said to have had a heated argument with his wife three days earlier, leading to him allegedly sending her packing from her matrimonial home.
