Chris Giwa’s faction of the NFF committed a major blunder, listing a dead referee, Wale Akinsanya, as one of the officials for a league game, reports Tony Ubani.

The Vanguard reports that the ‘referee’, late Wale Akinsanya died on January 22, 2016 during a FIFA Cooper Test in Ibadan.

But in the list of referees named for the NPFL matches this weekend, he was picked as centre referee for the encounter between Warri Wolves and Giwa FC in Warri.

The late Ibadan-based referee is scheduled to be assisted by Tope .O from Osun State and Adeleke M (Oyo) in the game.

The list submitted to the League Management Company (LMC) for this weekend’s games was signed by Yahaya Adama.
