Atiku Abubakar Declares Himself and Amaechi as ‘Conspirators’ Against Tinubu’s Administration

Former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has openly described himself and former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, as “conspirators” united in opposition to President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
Atiku made the statement during the 60th birthday celebration of Amaechi held in Abuja on Saturday. He accused the current government of weaponizing poverty in Nigeria and expressed the coalition’s determination to end this practice.
“You may call me a conspirator or anything, but that is why we are in this alliance—to make sure we don’t allow them to continue their weaponizing policies,” Atiku said.

He praised Amaechi as one of their “star conspirators,” pledging to continue working with him to reduce poverty and prevent the misuse of state power.
Atiku, Amaechi, former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, and other opposition figures are leading a coalition focused on unseating Tinubu in the 2027 general elections. Recently, coalition leaders met to finalize their plans and kickstart their movement.
