Atiku breaks silence after APC linked him to Hushpuppi

Atiku Abubakar, 2019 Presidential Candidate of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) has reacted to the allegations linking him to suspected fraudster, Ramon Igbalode known as Hushpuppi.

The Herald earlier reported the All Progressives Congress (APC) has written a statement to security agencies calling for the investigation of PDP whose members were seen gallivanting in Dubai, the alleged shelter of fraudsters few weeks to 2019 general elections.

A photo has been circulating on social media showing 2019 Presidential Candidate and the alleged fraudster smiling.

Reacting to the claims, Atiku denied the allegations it was a mere photo-op at a public gathering in the midst of other Nigerians.

This was contained in a statement released by his spokesperson, Paul Ibe.

The statement reads;

”It is curious that the All Progressives Congress is mischievously trying to link Atiku Abubakar to the alleged fraudster, Ramon Abbas, AKA Hushpuppi, simply because he was photographed with Atiku at an event where many Nigerians had gathered.

“For the avoidance of doubt, it was a mere photo-op and not at any meeting as being ingloriously speculated. We would advise the APC and Mr. Nabena to be very mindful of such senseless statements in the future especially as the case under reference is a subject of litigation in another country.

“Had they been more sensitive, they would have come to terms with the reality that the case is a national embarrassment – not something to cheer about for any political blackmail.”
