Donald Trump and Angela Merkel were involved in a hugely awkward exchange as the pair met at the White House.
At a photo call with the two world leaders, photographers asked the pair to shake hands.
But it appeared Mr Trump either did not hear the request or chose to ignore it, despite Ms Merkel asking him if he would like to.
In video footage of the exchange, she can be seen pulling a face, clearly assuming she has been ignored.
Both leaders had been highly critical of each other’s policies recently, with Merkel being critical of Trump’s travel ban while Trump had slammed the German Chancellor’s immigration policies.
However, he did shake Angela Merkel’s hand, albeit when she first arrived at the White House earlier in the day.
