Bandits kill Ondo farmer’s children, abduct 2 more

Bandits have killed two and abducted two more children of a farmer simply identified as Dele, in Ajowa Akoko, Akoko North-West Local Government Area of Ondo State.

The incident occurred on Wednesday.

It was learnt that the gunmen, who released sporadic gunfire, first stormed the home of one Yinka Oludotun, a cattle rearer in the town, but could not gain entrance.

Soldiers were said to have foiled the suspected kidnapping attempt and as they intervened and chased the gunmen away from the vicinity.

After failing in their mission to Oludotun’s home, the gunmen then mobilised to the home of Dele, killing two of his children and whisking two more to an undisclosed location.

It was learnt that a combined team of soldiers, policemen and men of the state Amotekun Corps were already combing the Ajowa Akoko forest to nab the criminals.

Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in Ondo, Mr Tee-Leo Ikoro said that security agents were already on the trail of the assailants.

He added that investigation was ongoing.
