A farmer, Mal Yakubu Birima, has narrated how bandits shot three and abducted 17 members of his family in Kaduna State.

The farmer said he was one of the three shot by the assailants.

He said that the incident occurred in Udawa village, Chikun Local Government Area of Southern Kaduna on Saturday.

The victims were on their way to the family’s farm when the incident occurred, he stated.

Senator for Kaduna Central in the Eighth Senate, Shehu Sani disclosed the family’s ordeal in a tweet on Sunday.

He noted that the distraught farmer’s abducted relatives were still in the custody of their abductors 24 hours after the incident.

Sani urged Nigerians to keep praying for an end to insecurity in the country.

“I just spoke to Mal Yakubu Birima a farmer from Udawa village, Kaduna State.

“Yakubu & 2 of his family members were shot by bandits.17 other members of his family are in the hands of the bandits after they were abducted while on their way to their farms yesterday.

“Let’s keep praying,” Sani stated.

The incident is coming barely 24 hours after the Southern Kaduna Peoples Union (SOKAPU) disclosed that two persons were killed and many houses burnt in a community in Zangon Kataf local government.
