Governor clears over ‘after God, it’s Goodluck Jonathan’ Comment

Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi has clarified a recent viral statement credited to him, saying he was misquoted in the speech, as saying ‘after God is former President Goodluck Jonathan.’

It was learnt that Mohammed made the remark during the inauguration of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)’s campaign council for Bayelsa and Kogi states governorship election at the National Secretariat of the party in Abuja.

The state commissioner of information and communications Ladan Salihu, who on Wednesday, October 16, on behalf of his boss explained that he was misquoted by a section of the media.

 

Salihu maintained that the governor cannot do anything without acknowledging God first, adding that the statement  by the governor was purely normal.

According to him, the governor only praised the former president whom he described as his political mentor and role model for giving him the mandate to serve as FCT Minister during his administration.
