Bayelsa election: Goodluck Jonathan’s kinsmen dump PDP for APC

Some members of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Bayelsa state have defefected to All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the coming governorship elections in the state.

Robert Enogha and Claudius Enegesi who are reported to kinsmen of Nigeria’s former president, Goodluck Jonathan, are two of the new defectors.

Enogha was, before his defection, the chairman of Bayelsa Environmental Sanitation Authority and an ex-commissioner for environment in the state.

He said: “I write to formally inform you of my withdrawal of membership from the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP). I am doing this with so much pain as a founding member of the party which was truly democratic as at then.

“I must acknowledge the immense benefit and experience I have gathered over the years through service as a loyal and faithful member.  However I have lost confidence in the party’s ability to accept where the opinion of majority counts, hence my resignation”.

Meanwhile, The Herald earlier that Adams Oshiomhole,  the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairman, declared that the party would ensure that all the wrongs committed by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Bayelsa, are corrected, if it wins the gubernatorial poll in the state.

Oshiomhole made this  at the flag-off of the party’s campaign in Ogbia town, Ogbia Local Government area of the state.

The part’s national chairman  said the party had presented a good team and was poised to win the Nov. 16 governorship election in the state.
