A former presidential aspirant, Prof. Kingsley Moghalu, has urged supporters of 2023 presidential candidates to be tolerant and respectful of opposing camps.
Moghalu, who vied for the African Democratic Congress (ADC) ticket and lost, made the call in a Tuesday tweet.
He said that Nigerians reserve the right to vote for any candidate of their choice and should not be subjected to intimidation or harassment as a result of their choice.
Supporters of Peter Obi of Labour Party (LP), who are called ‘Obidients’, have been occasionally accused of bullying and harassing supporters of other presidential candidates.

The Convener of Concerned Nigerians, Deji Adeyanju, and a staunch supporter of Atiku Abubakar of PDP, Reno Omokri say they have been subjected to attacks by ‘Obidients’ on social media.
In an apparent reaction, Moghalu called for decorum and mutual respect ahead of the February 25, 2023 polls.
“I believe it is important, no matter who anyone supports or will end up voting for in 2023, to be tolerant and respectful of ALL candidates. Please debate ideas, visions (if and where they exist), experience and track record, and avoid personalized insults.
“Intolerance, on/off social media, is wrong. The politicians you are fighting and killing each other for wine and dine with each other across party lines.
“Be wise! Nigerians reserve the right to vote for any candidate of their choice in a democracy. Just make informed choices,” he said.
