Kogi State News: Yahaya Bello Sacked Commissioners

Pandemonium in Kogi State this Sunday as Governor Yahaya Bello sacked all of his commissioners. In facts, the 21 local governments’ administrators were not spared.

However, Gov. Yahaya Bello reversed this order almost immediately and asked the officials to continue their work.

On Sunday 11/03/2018, sources present at the state’s Executive Committee Council meeting revealed that the governor had ordered all commissioners and all the 21 local governments’ administrators to hand over keys to their official cars and property in their care to the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Folasade Ayoade.

The move was apparently in consequence of an arms importation scam which occurred last Thursday.

The governor blamed his cabinet members of reportedly tendering this information out to the public.

He stated when rescinding the order, “better performance and better relationship” from the sacked officials with the state government.

Kingsley Fanwo the Director General, Media and Publicity to the Governor, verified that the governor had u-turned on his order of dissolution.
