Benue Crisis: Minister Of Defence’s Statements A Disgrace Says Abba Yaro

The Chairman of the Benue State Chapter of the All Progressive Congress (APC) Abba Yaro has called the Minister of Defense, Mansur Dan-Ali a disgrace to democracy over the Minister’s remarks to Nigerians and the public.

The Minister according to Yaro had informed people that the attack on the two communities in Benue which left over 70 people dead with properties worth millions destroyed was due to the Law passed by the Benue state government banning open grazing.

“By this singular utterance, the Minister of Defence, Col. Muhammad Mansur Dan Ali (rtd) has inarguably displayed incontestable lack of the required sensibility and capacity to serve as Defence Minister in a country of over 180 million people with over 300 ethnic nationalities.” said Abba Yaro,

The Chairman who has called for the resignation of the Minister with an apology to Benue state in a chat with Sunday Sun expressed his disgust at the Minister’s statements which according to him were in very poor taste to the state that gave President Muhammadu Buhari voting advantage in the 2015 general elections which contributed to the President winning the election.

The Benue State APC Chapter party members have queried Mansur Dan-Ali’s true intentions, asking him to give reasons for his actions which to them is a deliberate attempt to foil the party’s success in the 2019 general elections.

The party declared its support for the Benue State governor Samuel Ortom and affirmed its intention towards making sure the open grazing prohibition law in the state their top priority.
