Beware: NUC Has Just Shut Down This University

The National University Commission (NUC) has sealed off, World Mission University, an unregistered university in Delta state.

The seal-off was executed by the NUC in collaboration with officers of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Related Offences Commission (ICPC) on Thursday, June 23.

The coordinator of the institution, World Mission University, as well as the support staff were also arrested by the agency during the operation

Mrs Lucky, the school’s coordinator, before her arrest, insisted that university started operations in 2010, having being registered by Corporate Affairs Commission.

She said: “Our objective is to provide scholarship and run international degree programme as well as create employment.”

She added that the school management was working out details to enable it register with NUC.

Moses Awe, head of NUC legal department, disclosed that they had monitored activities of the institution for about six months after a student had inquired about the university’s genuineness.
