The Edo state National Assembly has amended the bill of law for pension rights of a retiring Governor and his deputy such that they are both entitled to a residential building of N200m and N100m respectively.

Beneficiaries of the property will be starting from the immediate past Governor of the state, Adams Oshiomole and his deputy, Dr Pius Odubu, who are the first to get the property, and they have the privilege to make a choice on the location.

The relevant sections of the rule was suspended while passing the bill, and the speaker, Dr Justin Okonoboh, instructed that the bill should be accorded a third reading with copies sent to the Governor.

Dr Justin also observed the successful activities to the last few months in the state, which includes the swearing in ceremony of the new Governor, and also the coronation of a new Oba of Benin, Oba Ewuare II.
