Black Panther actresses, Lupita Nyong’o and Danai Gurira were in Lagos for a girls trip/research trip for an upcoming project the two are involved in.

Lupita went on her Social Media to post a picture herself and Danai on Friday with her location reading, Lagos, Nigeria and the caption; “Girls Trip! #Lagos #Nigeria/ @danaigurira”

It seems they have left though and that the trip was to research for their upcoming roles in the miniseries Americanah which is based off the work of Nigerian author Chimamanda Adichie.

Danai revealed that they were indeed in Nigeria during an interview on the Ellen Show in which she revealed to host Ellen Degeneres that they were researching

“I was researching. I’m a writer and I was researching something that I’m adapting into a miniseries. The book by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie called ‘Americanah’.” she said

She also said that while her visit wasn’t public knowledge, she did get recognised while in Nigeria.

She said; “I was in this very small town in a small hotel, and I was just walking across the breakfast room to get a cup of tea.

Then, this man, he was probably around 60 or so, looked up and went, ‘GENERAL’. That was surprising.”
