Bode George Supports Ude-Okoye as PDP National Secretary

Bode George, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Board of Trustees and esteemed elder statesman, has voiced his support for Sunday Ude-Okoye as the legitimate National Secretary of the party.

The PDP has been embroiled in a dispute between Ude-Okoye and Samuel Anyanwu, both claiming the role of National Secretary. Following a Board of Trustees meeting on Wednesday, they urged the National Working Committee to promptly install Ude-Okoye as the official National Secretary.

Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Friday, George emphasized that the decision was based on the Court of Appeal’s ruling, which confirmed Ude-Okoye’s legitimacy. “So far, the facts that they brought, I am completely on board with that. What do you expect the elders to do? The report was clear that there was no counter Court of Appeal report apart from the one from Okoye,” George remarked.

He added, “If Anyanwu decides to go to the Supreme Court and the Supreme Court throws out that decision of the Court of Appeal, we will abide by that.”

George called on Anyanwu to relinquish his claim and promote peace, allowing the party to focus on its role as the opposition. He reassured that despite the current turmoil, the PDP remains more organized internally than the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

George confidently stated that the PDP’s foundation remains solid, and the party is not at risk of collapsing.
