Boko Haram: 3 vigilantes killed by land mine on their way to fight insurgents

Three Vigilantes on their way to Borno State to fight Boko Haram insurgents have been killed while seven others have been left injured.

The attack on the civilian JTF was as a result of their vehicle hitting a landmine which resulted in the death and injury of the civilian Vigilantes from Chul village in Borno State.

The Vigilantes had on Monday evening teamed up to move against the militants who had raided the neighbouring village of Huyum.

A member of group, identified as Adamu Galadima said; “We lost three of our colleagues to a roadside bomb yesterday evening on their way to repel Boko Haram in Huyum,”

The vigilantes were approaching Huyum, which was under Boko Haram attack, when the front tyre of their vehicle hit a bomb planted by the attackers”,

The dead victims have been buried while the injured ones are receiving medical attention.
