In what can only be described as a worrying incident, it has been reported that Boko Haram terrorists attacked a market inside 33 Army Artillery barracks on the outskirts of Maiduguri, capital of Borno state, on Wednesday.
According to News Agency, The Cable, a source of theirs reported that the grisly incident happened around 9:30pm
It was gathered that suicider bombers snuck into the barracks using a tricycle, after which they proceeded to detonate their explosives at a relaxation spot.
According to the source, “The attackers took advantage of the high influx into the mammy market as a result of the demolition of brothels in the city,
“The Borno state government has destroyed brothels in the city centre, people now troop to the barracks which is still full of life. The suicide bombers sneaked in and struck within the crowd.”
Moruma Zannah, a member of the Civilian joint task force (CJTF), a local vigilante group, said that a large number of people were killed in the incident and there were also many injured, these people have now been moved to the Maiduguri Specialist Hospital.
Zannah said: “I cannot ascertain the number of dead people. We all ran for our dear life,”
