“I am delighted to witness this handover ceremony, and to say that I have been so privileged to have worked with Gen. Hassan Umaru for the past three months as his deputy.

“I have learnt quite a lot from his leadership style. I have also benefited from him in the area of this operation.

“I am privileged to have the opportunity of continuing the work that I had been doing with him for the past three months,” he said.

The new commander therefore solicited for the cooperation of officers and men to enable them succeed in the national assignment of restoring peace to the North East.

He expressed optimism that very soon, the threat of insurgents would be history. (NAN)
