The news broke on Tuesday that the 7 Division Garrison of the Nigeria Army had arrested an 11-year-old boy, Usman Modu Tella, who happened to be listed among the most wanted Boko Haram suspects.

According to the Army’s ‘Most Wanted’ list of Boko Haram kingpins, which was released in October, Tella was listed as number 82.

The boy was reportedly nabbed at the Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camp in Dalori, Maiduguri, Borno State, by security agents attached to the camp.

Giving his account of how he became an extremist, Tella said he was among three kids trained by terrorists to take on suicide bombing missions.

According to him, the two other kids had successfully undertaken their own mission, which means he is the only one of them still alive.

He said he was planning to execute his own mission at a yet-to-be determined date.

The boy, who hails from Bama town, equally identified another Boko Haram suspect in the camp, a man later identified as Alhaji Kerewu Abubakar.
