British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has gone into self-isolation after coming into contact with someone who tested positive for COVID-19.

Boris Johnson met with Lee Anderson, a member of Parliament, on Thursday. Anderson developed symptoms after the meeting and later tested positive for the coronavirus.

This news comes months after Boris Johnson battled Covid-19 in intensive care unit earlier this year.

In a statement, No. 10 Downing Street said Boris Johnson wasn’t experiencing symptoms but would follow guidance from Britain’s National Health Service, which recommends self-isolation after prolonged exposure to someone who has the virus.

“He will carry on working from Downing Street, including on leading the government’s response to the coronavirus pandemic,” the statement said.

Under the UK Government guidelines, those who come in to contact with people who test positive must isolate for 14 days.
