The Attorney-General and Commissioner of Justice in Borno state, Hon Kaka Shehu Lawan has called for the arrest of former governor of the state, Alhaji Ali Modu Sheriff, who also happens to be related to President Buhari.

His reason for this is that he believes that the ousted PDP chairman is responsible for the growth of the dreaded Islamic terrorist group, Boko Haram.

This is not the first time Sheriff has been accused of being in cahoots with Boko Haram. Some time ago, Femi Fani-Kayode accused Sheriff of being in league with Boko Haram, a claim that Sheriff was quick to shut down in an interview with Channels TV.

Sheriff is related to Buhari in that they are in-laws. The son of Sheriff is married to Buhari’s daughter.

The AG who spoke Tuesday at one of the sessions at the ongoing annual conference of the Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, in Port Harcourt said that the arrest of Sheriff would go a long way in helping those who have suffered at the hands of the terrorist group.

Lawan never did explain how exactly how the ousted PDP chairman is linked with Boko Haram but said that he was in league with them and supported the spread of Islam through terror.
