One of the COVID-19 patients who had been on the run in Borno State has reportedly been found.

According to the state Commissioner for Health, Dr. Salisu Kwayabura, Abbas Kaka Hassan, a 24 year-old male, who was tested at UMTH’s COVID-19 laboratory, was declared wanted yesterday after he could not be reached via mobile call.

The run away patient was found in a bad state in his family house in Gwange 11.

The COVID-19 patient was immediately rushed to an isolation Centre  where he is currently using a ventilator.

According to Dr. Kwayabura, health workers are working round the clock to revive the patient while a contact tracing and surveillance team has been put in place to identify people who may have had direct or indirect contact with the patient. Their samples will also be collected to run tests.
