Breaking: Obaseki Wins Edo Governorship Election with 307,000 votes

Governor Godwin Obaseki has won the Governorship election in Edo State with more than 100,000 votes.

Obaseki and the Peoples Democratic Party PDP polled 307,955 votes to best his closest rival pastor Ize-Iyamu of the All Progressives Congress APC who polled 223,619 of the total votes cast.

Other parties which participated in the election include the Social Democratic Party (SDP), with 323 votes, Zenith Labour party (ZLP) with 117 votes and All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) with 177 votes.

The announcement of the total results brings the Edo 2020 Governorship exercise to a close. The election conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) was largely peaceful, free and fair.
