One Mrs. Kehinde Anifowose has been dragged to the Ikole Customary Court by a trader, Dele Omotoyinbo over the debt of N90,400 she incurred during her wedding.

The trader alleged that the housewife, Mrs. Kehinde collected Aso-Ebi fabrics for her wedding ceremony in September, 2015 and has since failed to pay.

On February 15 when the case was first heard, Mrs Anifowose signed an undertaking in which she promised to pay the amount due in installments starting with an initial amount of N30,000 to be paid at the end of February.

At the hearing of the case on Monday, the bride’s father, Mr Joseph Anifowose pleaded the absence of his daughter claiming she was ill. He added that a total of only N21,000 of the initially promised payment of N30,000 was raised.

Mr. Anifowose pleaded with the court for more time so his daughter could raise the money, noting that he would also help in raising the money which the complainant lamented was taking a negative toll on her business.

The presiding officer on the case, Mrs Yemisi Ojo ordered that the amount must be paid fully by the end of April, adding that failure to do so will lead to the law taking its full course.

The case has been adjourned to February 14 for further hearing.
