British Airways Engine Fails During Abuja-London Flight

1 Min Read

The British airways (BA) 8:30am scheduled flight to London from the Nnamdi Azikwa International Airport, Abuja, was aborted on Monday following a problem with one of the engines as the plane was just about to take off from the runway.

The passengers were immediately informed to disembark from a plane that was towed away from the runway to the tarmac after the engineers tried to fix the right engine of the plane that abruptly failed.

Mr Henrietta Yakubu, the Spokesperson of the airport confirmed the incident, but he had no further details to disclose. Similarly, the BA officials could not comment on the issue.

However, the International carrier should be very pleased that the mechanical problem occurred while the plane was still on ground because the prognosis of engine failures on air is very poor with associated high mortality rates.
