Unarguably the biggest question in world football today is: Who is better between Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi?

Many have tried to answer the question, but their responses have only elicited more debate.

Of course, Ronaldo and Messi are two of the greatest of all time, with both having won five Ballon D’Ors each.

They have also won a prodigious amount of trophies for their clubs – Real Madrid and Barcelona respectively.

However, fans all over the world keep popping the question: who is better?

Italian captain and longtime Juventus goalkeeper, Gianluigi Buffon attempted to answer that question, after journalists asked him in a press conference ahead of Friday’s friendly game between Italy and Argentina.

He said, “They are two completely different players.
“Messi is more complete, because he starts deeper, has more technical quality and a vision of the game that is worth more of a trequartista than a finisher.

“Cristiano Ronaldo, perhaps because he is a little older, has become a killer in the penalty area. Compared to how he was before, Ronaldo preserves his energy more, so he no longer goes out to the flank for a nutmeg or trick-shot, but with one ball into the box he can create a goal.”
