President Muhammadu Buhari has commiserated with family of victims of attacks at Auno village, along Damaturu – Maiduguri Road.

President Buhari assured them that his administration will not stop fighting against the operation of Boko Haram, and bring it to an end.

Recall that the terrorists killed nine people and kidnapped some travellers along the Maiduguri-Damaturu highway around Auno town, in Konduga local government area of the state late at night.

They destroyed and burnt 17 vehicles and goods worth millions of naira during the attack after motorists were stranded due to closure of entrance into Maiduguri town at 6 pm.

President Buhari in a statement on Monday, February 10 sent to journalists by his media aide, Garba Shehu, said the terrorists’ days are numbered, adding that they will be completely crushed in no time.

The statement read: “The commitment of this administration to protect the lives of Nigerians will not be derailed by the cowardly and indiscriminate violence against innocent people by Boko Haram terrorists,’’ he said.

“The peculiar challenges of asymmetric warfare notwithstanding, our armed forces are ever determined to defeat these enemies of humanity.”
