Buhari Declares Two Days Holiday As Part Of Easter Celebration

The Federal Government under the Muhammadu Buhari-led administration has declared Friday, April 14 and Monday, 17, 2017 as public holidays to mark the Good Friday and Easter day celebrations.

The public holiday was made known by the Minister of Interior, Lt . Gen . Abdulrahman Dambazau (retd.), today in Abuja.

While declaring Friday and Monday free of work, the Interior Minister enjoined Christians and Nigerians in general to see the celebration as a means to extend spiritual benefits including love, peace, justice, sacrifice and kindness to others in contributing to thwe unity and peaceful co-existence among one another.

In the statement issued by the Director, Office of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Interior, Muhammadu Maccido, the Interior Minister, Dambazau further implored Nigerians to support the president Muhammadu Buhari-led administration “in his sustained efforts to build a strong and virile nation. ”
