Buhari Threatens Violators of NIS Directive

President Muhammadu Buhari has threatened to take decisive action against anyone found to be flouting the directive by the Nigeria Immigration Service that all unauthorised persons carrying diplomatic and official passports should return them.

He issued the warning after a meeting with the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Bulus Lolo, in the Aso Rock Villa.

The Comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration Service, Martins Kure Abeshi had earlier this week directed all former government functionaries to return the diplomatic and official passports in their possession, stating that they (the passports) had been revoke.

“Something has to be done so that we can get back our respectability as a country. Some people carry official passports and get involved in all sorts of negative acts. We need to do something about it,” Buhari declared.
