Hon. Fatuhu Muhammad, the Member representing Daura/Maiadua/Sandamu Federal Constituency of Katsina State in the House of Representatives, has allegedly threatened to organise the beating of a man over a Facebook post.

The lawmaker is a nephew of President Muhammadu Buhari.

The victim identified as Abdulbasid Bello Mai’adua allegedly wrote a Facebook post the lawmaker deemed critical of him, Sahara Reporters reported, quoting Katsina Post.

This was said to have prompted the lawmaker to place a phone call to Mai’adua, during which he called him names and threatened to organise thugs to beat him up.

In an audio recording of the conversation which circulated on social media, the lawmaker reportedly dared Mai’adua to record the conversation.

He further dared the victim to report to whoever he wished in Katsina or Nigeria.

“I want you to record this call. I am warning you not to try me again because I am not your mate, neither your boss. If you do not get out of my way, I will arrange for your beating. You can report to whomsoever you wish in Katsina or even Nigeria.

“At it seems you are an ignorant person who doesn’t know anything, who doesn’t know about development. It is either you are not patriotic or educated. You should get out of my way or else I will arrange for your beating,” Muhammad reportedly said.

Mai’adua confirmed that he was accosted and assaulted by some thugs in Daura allegedly on the orders of the lawmaker.

He disclosed that he did not write against the lawmaker as claimed.

According to him, neither the lawmaker’s name or political office was mentioned in his Facebook post.
