A nephew to President Muhammadu Buhari and member representing Daura/Sandamu/Maiadua Federal Constituency, Hon. Fatuhu Muhammed, has dumped the ruling All Progressives Congress, (APC).

Muhammed dumped the ruling party after failing to clinch his party’s ticket for the Federal Constituency seat for the 2023 general election.

The Herald recalls that the lawmaker secured 30 votes, losing to his challenger, Aminu Jamo, who polled 117 votes at the end of the party primaries.

Muhammed conveyed his decision to quit the APC through a letter addressed to the party’s chairman in Sarkin Yara ‘A’ Ward, Daura.

In the letter dated July 13, 2022, he thanked the party for giving him an opportunity to serve his people.

“This is to notify you that I have resigned my membership from the All Progressives Congress (APC) with immediate effect commencing from Wednesday the 13th day of July, 2022. Attached herewith is my Party Membership Registration slip with slip No. KT/DRA/10/00002.

“While I thank you and the Party for the opportunity given to me to serve the interest of the people of Daura/ Sandamu/ Mai ‘Adua Federal Constituency while working with the Party, accept my best wishes please,” Muhammed said.
