The General Overseer, The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, says only God’s mercy protected Nigerians from being consumed by COVID-19.

He said that it was due to God’s protection that despite poor medical facilities, Nigeria still fared way better than many developed countries.

Adeboye stated this during the church’s first Sunday service in November themed, “Better Days Ahead”.

The respected cleric emphasised the need for Nigerians to continue to pray for God’s mercy and protection as the pandemic continues unabated globally.

Urging them to give God the glory, Daddy GO, as the cleric is popularly called, advised Nigerians not to take God’s mercy and protection for granted.

“When Coronavirus (COVID-19) broke at the beginning of the year, all advanced countries said, ‘Oh God, when this thing comes to Africa, they will be dying like chickens.’ They said it. It is not that they thought it.

“Why did they say so? It’s because they know we do not have any resource to handle what was coming. They saw what was happening to them. They were dying by the thousands with all their expertise, all their wealth,” Adeboye said.
