A 37-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murdering and cannibalizing his own grandmother on Monday.
Dwayne Wallick, 37, was arrested after Richmond police allegedly caught him feasting on his 90-year-old grandmother, Ruby Wallick.
On Monday afternoon, authorities responded to a 911 call reporting a man standing over a bloody woman’s body on the 1200 block of Club Court in Richmond, a quiet residential area near the Hilltop Plaza.
Upon arrival, officers found Wallick “digging in her flesh,” according to A Bay City News report. Wallick allegedly ignored orders to stop and officers had to use a stun gun to subdue and arrest him.
Wallick remains in a hospital, where he is being treated for physical injuries. Investigators are looking into whether drug use played a role in the crime.
The 90-year-old grandmother, Ruby Wallick, is said to have been “missing pieces of flesh”. She was pronounced dead Monday, but her exact cause of death has not been released.

Both Dwayne and Ruby lived at the Club Court residence, according to police. Police are unsure of a motive for Ruby’s murder. Wallick will be booked into the Martinez Detention Facility once he is released from the hospital.
