The CCT Chairman, Justice Umar, has opened up about Saraki’s case, claiming he can’t resign from the case, because he is the representative of God.

The justice called Saraki’s attention to the fact that he has appeared three times before a committee set up by the National Assembly to probe the bribery accusations while his accusers did not honour the summon.

“I hold this position as a viceroy of God and if I didn’t do it the way he want me to do it, I will be removed,” Umar said.

He added that he can only be prosecuted by the Attorney General of the Federation if there were facts to do so and not based on mere suspicion.

Senate president, Bukola Saraki, is currently facing trial at the CCT over alleged false declaration of assets.
