The National Youth Service Corps on Monday, July 9, released a statement regarding the alleged certificate forgery by the Honorable Minister of Finance, Kemi Adeosun.
The reaction came from the heels of the allegation which tries to indict the finance minister for not undertaking the mandatory one year national service after graduation.
According to news report from media sources, the NYSC’s director of public relations, Adenike Adeyemi, said the service is working towards verification of Adeosun’s certificate.
The director who made the statement during an interview also maintained that ‘’The NYSC as a public institution and organization where some information is domiciled for public interest will definitely not hoard any information’’
‘’Whatever we are releasing from this organization, from our tables, must definitely be subjected to every test so that when we say this is verified or not verified we stand by our words’’.
It was learnt that she fraudulently obtained an exemption certificate at 42, in violation of the NYSC establishment act, Decree No 24 of 1973 as amended.
The presidency on it’s part noted that it was yet to be briefed about the alleged forgery of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) discharge certificate by Adeosun.
It will however be recalled that the NYSC spokesperson earlier said the corps would soon issue an official statement on Adeosun’s alleged certificate scandal.
