Champions League: It’s Liverpool v Roma, Real Madrid v Bayern Munich

2 Min Read

Real Madrid will be taking on Bayern Munich in a bid to win their third successive Champions League trophy after the draw was held in Nyon today.

The other fixture sees Liverpool take on Italian giants and miracle workers, Roma.

Liverpool made it into the Semis with a comprehensive victory over two legs against Manchester City, winning 5-1 on aggregate and consigning Pep Guardiola’s wards to their 3rd defeat in a week.

Bayern Munich were too strong for Sevilla and their 2-1 win from the first leg was enough to give them the win.

Real Madrid needed a debatable refereeing decision and a last minute penalty dispatched by Cristiano Ronaldo ro get the better of Juventus after the Old Lady had come back from a 3 goal deficit in the first leg to well and truly scare Real Madrid out of their wits.

And finally, Roma dispatched of favorites Barcelona in a game that was certainly dramatic. A 3-0 win turned the tie on it’s head and gave Roma a 4-4 score and they edged through on aggregate.

The match against Roma would represent a return for Liverpool striker Mo Salah who until last season was a Roma player before the Reds bought him. Whether he’ll be able to replicate his goalscoring heroics against Roma remains to be seen, but the draw has gotten people talking.

We are in for a treat.
